Im getting sick even thinking about downloading 8 GB of data and another 8 GB for Opposing Fronts. Is there any option to smoothly install this game from CD? unfortunately the trick with the "backup" in properties only work for newer Steam games. I tried installing the CD to disk and then copy the CoH files to the "downloading" folder in Steam but guess what:Īfter 6 freaking hours, it kept pausing the update, tried running the game only to find out that it was broken with a Disc Error at 58% download. For example, if you want to get Company of Heroes + Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts Steam key and activate it on Steam, pick the shop that has a Steam icon. I tried with deleting local content, exit steam and run with command prompt -install D: (disc drive) but nothing happenend except the drive getting loud but thats it. My internet is extremely slow (200 kb/s) and therefore i mostly buy games on CD, however i cannot get Steam to install Company of Heroes from CD, like take files from the disc drive.
Wanted to give the new Steam version a try and have a bit of struggle with the new steam version of CoH 1.
